Will the dealer have to perform this before they sell the bikes now? or will they sell it then schedule an appointment for doing this recall?

With that initial notice its a certainty. They are all the same bikes. At least we can have peace of mind in the future.

Happy to see this is being recognized early. I'll be sure to watch this thread and take my bike in once its official in the US and repairs can be made.

Wow, what about that idler gear in the oil pump? That's slightly scary. Looking at the VIN range in Japan I would think bikes worldwide would be affected too. I hope Canada gets the recall as well.

Nice! I was hoping to see a recall on the clutch bearing. Was beginning to concern me more as more folks posting up failures.

I actually see this as a good thing. The bike is brand new and like anything new to the market, problems can come up. For this, it looks like Yamaha is all over it in pretty short order.
As long as it comes to us and they make the necessary repairs, I'm still pretty confident the bike is a long term keeper.
