It's all personal preference and also depends on your local law enforcement of loud pipes. Lots of forum members put Akrapovic and Yoshimura slip-ons or full systems on their R3s. Here's the Akra full system sound test by forum member jbluetooth
If you want an inexpensive GP style exhaust slip-on, the Devil D5M is a nice one

$302.00 dollars shipped from Thailand is okay. But I got this "Leo Vince" (Italian) shipped to Thailand for under $160.00
