Actually they can call it an FZ-03 just for America, but Yamaha should move quickly because the new naked Ninja 300 is selling well.

I think I'd prefer the FZ or naked bike over the R3. Not sure if I can wait much longer though.
Local dealer is selling a bunch of the KTM 390 Duke's, while the RC 390 is sitting collecting dust.
Come on Yamaha make up my mind!

Sweet. I thought I hated "naked" bikes, but the more I see them, the more I love them. Currently, I'm obsessing over the Street Triple R.

Yeah, I fully expect Yamaha to bring the naked R3 to USA very SOON. I'm sure they will call it FZ-03. I really like the Silver/Blue one! Looks very nice! It would be great fun around town. Maybe it will be over here by the end of this year, and they will call it an early 2017 model. Price should be around $4,500.

I know this feel.

I've been seeing more and more FZ-07/09s.. I think those will be on my upgrade list after I'm done with the R3.

The only thing you gain by going to the FZ-07 is more engine torque.

The FZ-09 is a quirky monkey.
It has a very strong engine, but it suffers from horrible mushy suspension.
I would buy a Triumph Street Triple R over the FZ-09. The Str3R is a well-sorted machine right out of the crate.
A little more expensive, but worth it. You will spend that extra money on suspension upgrades for the FZ-09 anyway.
