Mike if you don't mind me asking. Where did you buy the bike from? Did anyone reach out to about the recall?

oh man i'm sorry for the late response, never look at the notification bar , I bought it at Fun Center Power Sports, it's right over the Burlington Bristol Bridge. and No they didn't reach out to me I just so happened to go for factory frame slider installation and they asked if I had heard about the recall and and said "oh well your bike is part of that". Idk if they would have reached out, the sales guy I dealt with was apparently an owner and he wasn't the brightest. You would have thought Yamaha themselves would be reaching out...

I agree. You would think the dealership or Yamaha would contact you directly. Considering the number of recalls were so low that it would not have taken much to reach out to everyone.

Yamaha DID reach out by sending 1st Class letters to all R3 owners whose bikes were part of the recall.

Maybe yours got lost somehow....

I just called the dealership and they confirmed my bike was one of the ones recalled but for the pressure plate bearing, not the clamp.
Made my appointment for this Friday at Pasadena Yamaha (California) for anyone in the area

It is better to have recalls than ignore the problem (which does happen - ask me how I know). Two major recalls plus this one is not that bad for the first two years of production.
