New r3 owner

Hey everyone, as the title states, I'm new to the world of the r3. I own a 2006 Yamaha r1 and decided to look into buying an r3. After doing some intense research and looking at many used r3 motorcycles I decided to purchase a 2019 team Yamaha blue r3 and must say I absolutely love it. Honestly maybe even more than my r1. But yeah can't wait to chat with some of the more experienced r3 owners! Cheers!

Glad to hear you stayed yamaha blue.. welcome to the forum.
With a few mods you will really love the bike more. Itís a little dirt bike for the street! A lot of fun, safe, fast and light.( well, can become light).
I would humbly suggest a r6 throttle tube, full exhaust and an upgraded ecu.
Enjoy your ride!

I don't have the skill set to ride an R1,
...however after riding 50 years,
..…. my MT-03 (naked R3) makes me feel like I am riding a R1.
..……..and I saved 15 grand.

Enjoy your new ride.

Wow, that's interesting to hear from an R1 rider going to an R3 and really enjoying it. What is it about the R3 that you like so much? I'm guessing that it's so light and tossable, and you can wring it out and not get into a lot of trouble.
