Hey so I went and checked mine. Granted when I bought the bike it had this filter already installed but mine fits perfectly. I can feel it kind of "snap" into place. It seats properly. You can even see the dirt ring on the edge of where the filter sits so it's doing it's job lol looks like YA-3215 is the one I got. Maybe you were sold the wrong filter or something? Hopefully this helps

This number YA-3215 is the same filter currently listed as an "Exact Fit for the 2015 R3" by several reputable online retailers specializing in motorcycle products sales.

To ride or not to ride? What a stupid question! ... Anon

I remember talking to the lead design person at this last years motorcycle show stating that the filter doesn't fit correctly and such. explained to him about foam at the bottom. said he'd look into it and made a call to someone and told them what I told him. he said the team will be looking at it and will make adjustments I guess. that foam at the bottom from what others said as well didn't feel right. who knows if they fixed the problem.
