Hi, so I have made a decision of buying a slip-on for my yamaha R3 due to the fact that I want that extra sound to it. As I the slip-on came I was truly exciting, I have connected the slip-on and it sounds great, the slip-on has the options of having the baffle in or out, so I was going out to a breakfast run the other day and as I rode with people that had 600cc+ we were only planned to ride at about 170-180 km/h as we drove my bike didnt want to exceed 140/150 km/h thats about 9000rpm, I tested it and while I was going down a hill it still doesnt want to exceed 9000rpm, previously without the aftermarket slip-on I could have gone 188-195km/h full out and now I barely reach 150km/h plus, does anyone know what may be wrong, may it be the back compression due to the new slip-on that prevents it from going past 9000rpm or should I just upgrade to a full exhaust due to the cathelic converter that might be the problem, please help, I was at my closest Yamaha dealership and unfortuunately they couldnt tell me whats wrong???Any help is appreciated

I'm not sure how a slip-on would affect your top speed unless it was dragging a parachute. 195km seems like a bit of a stretch for a stock R3.

Upgrading to a full exhaust would only make the problem worse unless you get a proper tune.
