trying to take out my bar ends to put some mirrors but there's this threaded piece of metal where the original ends Screw into, how do I take that out? There's two black clips on each side left and right of the little metal cylinder in case that helps.

The stock internal bar weights are held in by a spring tab that catches in 2 holes inside the bars.

A thin, flat screwdriver can be used to lift the tab out of the holes and pop the weight out.

You can also tap it further in and spin it a little and it will slide out.

I never saw this thread. Sorry to hear that. I figured out how to take off bar ends with some clever forum searching.
Pro tip: aftermarket bar ends scratch so easy.
Sorry, I'm late to the post, too.

I had a post back in May about this topic. Step 1 is about bar end removal...

Glad you finally got it off...

Yes, because everyone who viewed your topic all had experience in removing their barends but didn't want to offer you any help... that's exactly what happened.

How to remove/replace bar ends?

Both bar ends marred and loose from the dealer. Went to replace them just now and have a hard time getting them off and on again. Instead of spinning a hex wrench endlessly I thought I would ask how its done.

Thanks!

Wrap the weight with electrical tape and hold with pliers if the hex head bolt won't come loose easily. Should unscrew easily then.

Boom!
I got them off its back on thats giving me the problem. The throttle side is passable but the left one will rattle loose, cant seem to get it to tighten. Inside just spins.

The inner weight has tabs on it that fit into slots inside the bars.

Sounds like those came out of the slots when you removed the weights.

See if you can get them back in place by using just the screw from the bar ends. Screw it in a bit and use it to maneuver the inner weight around until the tabs pop back into the slots....

Might need a small flat blade screwdriver to help re-position the weights, to get them in line with the slots.
ahh thats my problem these weights are just flat and the factory one has the slotted tab

Okay, with aftermarket weights you can wrap them with enough tape to make them a bit hard to get back in the bars, then twist and push until they do go in.

At that point, you should be able to tighten the bar ends.

If not, add more tape...lather, rinse, repeat!
I struggled with it for a while and gave up. Got the stockers on there straight and tight. Ill try again fresh tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

My problem was the bolts I was provided were too long.
It was cheap chinese ebay junk.

Once I got them mounted properly they looked good but a mid plastic spacer has started to fracture like ice on both side from vibration. Junk.

They are more straight forward when you have the proper hardware and or design.

Just got some from Evo-tech and they looked ridiculous, turns out they sent the wrong part.

I almost want another Throttlemeister cruise control.

I like watching your vids since you have a red one and doin pretty much same mods I am doing. So you get to be the Guinea pig for me. That bar end is LONG. no idea why. seems super over engineered
Wouldn't taking out the bar weight introduce more vibration ?
I'm just changing the bar end myself, leaving the bar weight inside.

the weight usually is at the end of the bar. I assume the weight for stock is inside the weight for the aftermarket is the big Red part.
