Hey everyone,

So long story short, my friends R3 got stolen and found with a lot of damage a week later. He gave it to my a week later since his parents did not want it at there house anymore. I took it in as a project bike and as a first bike to learn on. Most parts I bought are from eBay, since it is much cheaper then the OEM parts. I replaced the lights easily with some soldering, but my issue is with the speedometer.

I haven bought this speedometer:

I was just wondering has anyone replaced the Yamaha r3s speedo? If so how did you do it and is there any wiring diagram that shows what each colour represents so it is easy to sort it out.

If anyone else has any tips on how to work on the bike and make sure it is safe to ride and learn on please let me as well. Ive been lurking on the forums a while and there is a lot of useful stuff, so thanks everyone!

(PS: I have attached photos of the bike I currently I have)

Here's the service manual. The wiring diagram is near the end.

Hey, yep I have looked through that. The only issue with that is the diagram is not colour coding to the colour of the wires, which doesn't really help much. Thanks anyway!
