Cheap Bluetooth audio :)

If you are like me, and just want something for music that doesn't cover both ears, and limits the importance of hearing whats going on around you. I found this on amazon, 15 bucks. Fits like a hearing aid, clear audio with no wires. And doesn't muffle sound like ear buds, etc.

has a built in mic but have not tried placing calls while in helmet yet, not sure about that feature. if it works extra bonus. Been playing with it the last couple days. battery is not the best but good for 2-2/12 hours of music.

I had been on a hunt for something cheap and simple i didn't have to attach to the helmet, and wouldn't get yanked out of my ear while putting the helmet on.

Sweet I am on the hunt for something just to get GPS and hear if I am getting calls. Not interested in talking while I ride.
Cool, thanks. When I start taking longer rides , probably useful to keep me mildly entertained with music.
hope it helps, yeah i had been hunting for a while, same here not into talking while i drive anything.
when i got it and it worked was like **** yeah.

only downside I've found, when you take your helmet off it tries to take it with it because its cut like a hearing aid.

But yes gps audio prompts etc all work.

I always use the Waze app so it's nice to have the audio prompts for cops reported ahead lol

I have this and I absolutely love it. its still clear at 80mph with wind noise.

I can get a few days out of a charge and the install was easy

I got the Sena SHM5 on amazon for $96. I can still hear it fine at 80mph. Easy to operate once you figure out the controls. Only thing that bugs me is sometimes the dial button gets pressed on my shoulder when i'm looking around.
wanted to give an update, cheap little dude still works great, have made in helmet phone calls (pulling over into a parking lot with helmet on, and people hear me and i hear them just fine even with the face mask open (kind of surprised me.). I've been told just sounds like you are outside.

again for 15 bucks! I still hear my music at 75-80 no problems but it's def much softer, i think thats more of a helmet issue. And with my apple watch (still don't have a phone mount of any kind, so jacket pocket it goes) i can easily control the audio, selections etc at stops, lights etc. Again only annoyance, when you take the helmet off it will try to come out of your ear and drop to the ground.

Just wanted to give an update.

I looked at a lot of the Sena units, but didn't want something that would attach to the helmet so its always portable, and didn't think it was worth the price for what i wanted which was just something to hear nav and music, and I use the waze app (if you don't you should, community updated gps nav, and hazard.) for traffic updates, hazards on the roads, police reported etc. Amazing app if people use it where you live.

I have an older non-BT Garmin GPS. I concede, I need audio to use the GPS. Is there anyway to get the audio into BT, or am I looking at buying a new BT-enabled Garmin GPS?

I could bust open the GPS, and tap the speaker wires, if there is some audio-to-BT converter.
