New to the Forum! Just bought a 2015 R3 with 1300 miles on it as my 3rd sport bike. You might wonder why I would get a 300 for a 3rd bike? I have always wanted to get into track riding and I feel starting on a small bike will help foster track skill vs starting on my large 800cc bike. I also would be pretty upset if I laid down my FZ8 vs laying down a smaller more affordable bike.

So far I've enjoyed the bike however it's taking time getting use to riding with a small bike especially on the highway. I am very use to riding my larger bike and being able to have instant power when lane changing or passing. I have to remind myself highway riding is not why I bought the bike and it shines in places the larger bikes can't. I'm really enjoying how light and nimble the bike is. I can't wait to start riding on the track!

Congrats on your new bike! Keep us periodically posted on progress and reviews for the R3 as a track bike! :)
Welcome!
Welcome from England.
Welcome!

I feel if you regularly switch between both bikes you would have a hard time getting used to the power difference at first. I didn't like the power of my R3 at firs, compared to the ~104hp that my zx6r had. The R3 is fine in traffic as long as you know you are still on the R3 and not the fz08.

The R3 is loads of fun on the track. Never had my zx6r on the track but if the canyons is anywhere near the same as canyons, then the R3 would be the bike of my choice both times.
welcome!

your going to love riding that thing on the track and most likely get addicted
