Hi,

I wanted to upgrade the GPS from the phone based 1 gps update per second, to a 5 HZ (5 updates per second)
heard decent stuff about the Dual Electronics XGPS150A Multipurpose Universal Bluetooth GPS Receiver with ... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006M49G80/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_x_KM0Azb9K91CG8

not an affiliate link...

82 bucks on amazon. Small size. easy to zip tie to the triple.

data seems pretty accurate and it does record lean angle.
not 100% sure how accurate it is. because sometimes it showed 60 degrees, which I think was from a sway..
but for my uses, its pretty good

Also I went ahead and purchased race chrono pro on android, and with the video on the phone, I was able to sync up the vid and telemetry and just export it to the phone.

I was using race render free.. but it was limiting me to 3 minutes per vid.

Lightning is a faster track, my fastest session of the day was 1:32 .
I was chasing a couple ninja 300s around during some sessions.

Oh yeah, if you do buy it, you have to flash the firmware to a different 5 hz version.

So the data is feed via blue tooth to the phone, which then applies it to whatever app you are using? I took my first Japan track day video, and **** does my BP look bad lol. HLT is definitely helping me figure out where I can improve and gain seconds.

Yes

so you disable the phone GPS.

Race chrone and Harrys lap timer both work well.
not sure about track addict .

I am not flexible enough yet. Working on it.

I have my rearsets pretty high and my clip ons pretty far forward.

Honestly the phone GPS without the bluetooth is a good start.

What is HLT?

HLT= Harry's lap timer. I use that. 1hz seems fine for now.

I'd recommend getting an external GPS unit if you're going to run a phone app lap timer, like Motovirg did. The 1Hz that phones have is not good enough. There have been times when using Race Chrono in the past it completely skipped over laps because of that. So I'd go out and do like 7 laps but it would only show 5, and 2 of them were double the time.

makes 100% sense that the lap timer could miss crossing the start finish line when using the 1 HZ phone gps.
It has happened to me multiple times for sure.

did not happen this last TD, when I went with the 5 hz reporting gps.

Do you have race chrono and Harry's? Which do you like more?
