I'm working on putting together a really complete writeup of power/torque output of the Yamaha R3 with information and results from testing with a number of different bikes and exhaust systems using the Bazzaz Z-Fi as well as Dynojet PCV with and without ignition timing. I started working on this at the Bazzaz facility, but their dyno reads so much differently than Dynojet dynos everywhere else that I had to redo some of this.
I'm testing at Lee's Cycle in San Diego now, and Gregg Spears has been helping a lot with this also, thanks Gregg! Both have Dynojet dynos that seem to read similiarly and I'm gathering data from a lot of different bikes and setups. My bike did just under 32 HP stock on the Bazzaz dyno, and 36.5 HP on the Lee's Cycle dyno, MUCH more consistent with the Cycleworld test which came in at 36.8 HP, and the baseline numbers Gregg has been getting. Hopefully I can publish the article in January, I want to get back to the track at least once more to test some new stuff and there's a lot of info to go through. But here are a few of the dyno runs from Saturday at Lee's Cycle in San Diego.
Here's a run with the stock exhaust, a run with the Akrapovic SS full system with the baffle installed, and a run without the baffle installed. It's a good sound test for all 3. I'll save the HP graphs for the writeup
but my bike did 36.50 as stock as I could make it. It still had the 13/42 Vortex sprockets, lightweight brake rotor, and Pirelli Rosso 2 140 rear tire.
