Raced for the first time last Sunday at NCBIKE.
It was a 300 series with 250s, 300 ninjas, 1 R3 (me), KTM 390s, about 25 bikes total give or take.
I started dead last (one bike behind me was not racing) row 7.

I was impressed with myself the speed I found, as I pushed thru traffic taking two laps or so to catch the two front runners. My R3 really had no advantage on the ninja 300 on the front straight (I wasnt drafting and SHOULD HAVE!) I also found that my o2 sensor plug had come out at some point before the race ;(
Either way I finished 2nd overall and 1st in my class. I have never had this much fun!

You sure this was your first time? Sure looked like you were taking the corners much faster than anyone out there. Awesome riding and congratulations!!

That was a good scrap at the front and a really close finish! Good work!

Some people don't get into racing until they're already really fast at track days, while others get into it when they're much slower and improve gradually. Seems like every year I see a couple of amateurs that are just starting to race and they dominate from the beginning and win or podium in every race while lapping as fast as some of the mid-pack experts.
