Would there be any interest in such a thing? It's been done for SV650, Ninja 650, Bandit 400, ZR7, etc. Ninja 300 in the offing though the R3 would be easier since it comes with big-boy 41mm forks.

I plan on racing the R3 next year and will be outfitting it with cartridge forks if possible. My suspension tuner, Roger Albert of offroad/onroad suspension out of Austin TX can make this happen and my bike will likely be the test mule.:D

Here's what properly designed fork pistons look like. *grin* I had a batch run off for me.

If you do a cartridge fork retrofit (eg. I've done a few GSXR guts inside various bikes with 41mm forks, SV650, EX650, FZ07, and 39mm FZ750, ninja 300) the Showa pistons are "ok" and the ones you get in a Traxxion AK-20 are nice but made of plastic. I have no particular quibble with RaceTech's valves but their kits are $125 for 2 pistons be they comp or rebound (pictured).

Mine were $80 for a set of 4.

The AK-20 is ~1200 installed. The gas charged version is $2000. You'll need massive sponsorship to justify that kind of spend.

Wondered how long it would take Gregg to show up...

I wonder how much Andreani have changed their kit since I did a review back in June - they fixed the fork cap at least.

In a couple weeks I'll have my grubby hands on Matris' latest offering: Matris Fork Cartridge F15Y125K. I expect they'll have an R3 version of it soon enough.
Hey Pattonme, would you happen to know the cc amount/weight of oil for the gsxr cartridges in the R3?
Thanks!

Just an FYI: Pattonme isn't really around much anymore... He was very active on the FZ-07 forum as well, and I think he just got busy with his "real" job... #adultingsucks!!!
