So I don't know anything about motorcycles and was wondering if the R3 uses a separate lubricant for the transmission. I did a quick search on Google and got something saying that most sportbikes will use the engine oil to lubricate the transmission.

Can anybody here confirm whether or not the R3 needs gear oil for its transmission? Or does it use the engine oil for lubrication as well?

Thanks in advance!

It's a Common Sump design. Same oil for engine, transmission and clutch. And there's only the one oil filler hole on the right side of the R3. Use motorcycle oil ONLY, not car oil.
