GPS/Smartphone-mount?

Hi, anyone knows a good mount for smartphones or GPS that fits well on the R3? Preferably from ebay, and not interested in spending $100 on some american made high quality item. Rather spend $20 on something from china, but works fine.

:nerd:
There's several ways I've read about. Cheapest was a guy who popped off the mirror cover plate on the left hand control box (you know they're on both sides and covered by a blanking plug? I didn't). He then bought one of those cheap screw in holders made for any bike (here...not the same one but you get idea...http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Motorcycle-Handlebar-Mirror-Mount-Phone-Holder-/201554487695?hash=item2eed95698f:g:BAgAAOSwbwlXASMY)
I think he had an iPhone 6 and just turned it sideways for the gps...It's $9.95 USD and I'm sure the M8 or M10 bolt can't be more than another $1 USD or so..

Duh...just noticed on the Fleabay auction picture they've just stuffed it under the mirror mount on the fairing....you could mount it there too..

Cheers

Dude get a ram mount. Customized specifically for the r3 about 50 to 80 bucks, easy to install and we'll worth the month. I have my ram mount mounted to the right side handle bar, attached to the resivor. Easy mounting took 10 minutes to do. You can customize your mount on their website. I'll post pictures later tonight.

Thanks @R3monster!
Can you list out the different parts one would need to put it all together.
I watched a youtube video about a similar mount style where the guy had to go to home depot to get a suitable M6 screw.
This is what I have in my Amazon cart so far for the mount:
* Cradle Holder: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0055PH0XA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ACMN0UPI91K5H
* Socket arm: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002L9LW00/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A4IH2VBB85535
* Handle bar base: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005J43I56/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1ZXWJYIISJIMI

Am I missing anything? Any suggestion on the screw I need to get from a hardware store?
Looks like you have everything. Double check your handle bar base. If your r3 doesn't have the center opening it won't fit. Let me search for the bracket I have on amazon and then I will post the link for you

@aaypan here is the link to what you need. It attaches to the right handle bar hand break assembly. You will not use the U Screws. Only the long screws, nuts and spacers.

Ram Mount Twist Lock Suction Cup Mount for Specific Lowrance Models https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000TFJLGU/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awd_CFokxbVH1PFY3

I'll try and get a better picture for you

Do you see how it's attached to the break assembly, takes about 10 minutes fairly easy. Good luck man

Safe riding

OP said he didn't want a "$100 on some American made item but rather $20 on a cheap Chinese one"

...but I've seen the same setup but they used the nut on the front of the tank (where the deep well and tiny drain hole is located). That was pretty choice because it's out of the wind and mounted low enough nothing can hit or snag it. Very Nice!!
I was looking over the pics in the "I just blacked out my blue panels" post on here and one of the bikes has that setup...choice.

Thanks buddy! Yeah this is probably one of the best setups I have seen. I'll try to put together something similar.
I don't have my bike yet. Probably getting one very soon but I am putting together a list of accessories I'll need as soon as I get my ride. I am bad with directions so will need a GPS/ phone mount asap :)
