Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has experience building these custom LED lightbar strips in their headlights and if it's easy to do it yourself if you take some time to do it.

These are the headlights I'm talking about:

Ebay link!

I'd also like to hear your opinions about these headlights.

Thanks in advance :) !

It'll be something like this, a flexible led strip. I have no experience with this site, just posting as an example.

The installation process will involve taking the headlight off the bike, baking the lens off, and gluing down the led strip. That'll be tapped into your turn signal lines of you want blinker functionality.

I've done a few retrofits myself, but never installed leds. My guess is that it's a few hour job if you kind of know what you are doing. Considerably more if you are struggling. The hardest part will be getting the headlight apart and lining up (and securing) the strip so it doesn't kink/crease/twist etc. Wiring can also take a while if you aren't very good at it.

Edit.
Here's a basic diy for a car, the same process applies to the bike.

There is a how to thread somewhere on here. Also there is a vender here that sells the whole assembly already installed but its not cheap.

Wthenshaw,

Could you post a installation video or maybe a detailed list of what you did? Love the look and potentially looking forward to adding this on my r3!
