Nice one welcome from England

nice! I got mine from daytona surrey, the burnaby icbc on lougheed has the motorcycle skills test course layed out in their parking lot with painted lines, when I had my learners I would always go down there after 5 pm and practice, check it out if you get the chance!
Congrats and welcome! I also got mine from Daytona Vancouver. Good luck on your class 6.
Welcome!

Then keep it and turn it into a track bike ;)
Nothing local. I just want the money to put towards a Fz07 or fz09 more fun stuff.

Are you going to Pitt Meadows this Sunday? I'm weather watching right now and may register at the last minute. My only problem is that I have a wedding to go to the night before and I may get smashed.
rossi probably rides hung over all the time :p

yup I will be there, may need to buy a canopy tent before then but I'll save you a beach chair! Look for the black smashed up r3 if you do come

Pitt medows? That track is all cones... not my sorta track. Other then that there is nothing else around unless I cross the boarder
hey different strokes for different folks right?

wmrc races up at mission raceway btw so you wouldnt have to cross the border

Have you done any Pitt Meadows days? They're actually pretty fun (to me anyway, I'm still a bike track noob) and literally a 20-25 min ride from Vancouver in the morning. What kind of tracks do you prefer? Which have you been on? I do track days in my cars all the time and don't seem to have any trouble getting to and from any of them.

Mission Raceway. I'm there about 10 times a year in my car. About a 45 min drive from Vancouver in the early morning. Easy to get to, fun, and you can go there in the morning, run, and be home in time for dinner.

Greg Moore Raceway in Chilliwack. Just a little farther than Mission.

Pacific Raceway in Kent WA. My favourite track. It puts hair on your balls for sure. I do day trips and over nighters there. Crossing the border is no big deal especially if you're doing a day trip, since you'd hit the border early in the morning.

The Ridge Motorsports Park. Farther than Pacific and you can't really do it as a day trip but it's fast, fun, and less dangerous than Pacific. You need a one night stay at the casino but you get a Ridge discount. If you stay with someone it's something like $40 Cdn each for the night. The track is also still relatively "cool and new" so you can post pictures of yourself on track and impress your friends.

Island Motorsports Park just opened on the island. You'd have to ferry over though. I only know one person who's been on track there so far and he says it's pretty tight. Probably good for a small bike like an R3.

Area 27 is under construction. It'll be a big bike track for sure. Probably too far for a day trip though.

Basically within day trip distance we have Mission, Pacific, Greg Moore, Pitt Meadows. That's pretty good IMO. Of course it's ok if you simply aren't interested in going to the track. Not everybody wants to and nobody will judge you if you don't, but don't tell me that there is "nothing around".

Heck, honestly I'm not even that interested in tracking my bike that much since I'm there in my car so often. I kind of feel like the bike is my escape from the track sometimes.
