Carbon Fiber are generally the lightest, but also among the most expensive.

See this for helmet shapes and weights. Figure your head shape, then check the ones in that shape for weight. It's not a complete list but is the most extensive one there is. Click on any helmet listed in blue for a full review.

Get one that fits, and has no pressure points on your head, cause then you'll get Helmet remorse and not be Happy.

I have a Bell Star, a Bell RS-1, and I'm in the market for a Shoei X-12 ??

I'm like a chick with shoes when it comes to Helmets, one is never enough. :D

+1 on Bell RS-1. Quite comfortable and you can find some amazing deals on them. a $430 helmet for $159? Yes please.

Schuberth SR1, Soumy Excel, Arai Corsair V Carbon, and AGV Pista (carbon) are the lightest helmets I have held. They are all very pricey, except the Suomy.

Bell RS1 is great helmet, but only if your head is slightly narrow in shape. If you have a neutral or roundish head shape the sides will absolutely crush your cheeks and there's no room for glasses.
