Hey guys,

So just 10 minutes after getting my brand new 2015 White/Red R3, I dropped it doing a slow u-turn and ended up making a small scratch on the fairing. It seems like some of the paint is chipping around the scratch and I wanted to know the best way to seal it so there is no further damage. If I can't touch it up with a matching color I am totally fine with a solution that prevents further chipping.

Any help would be appreciated!

You could probably pick up clearcoat touch-up pen at an auto parts store and apply that over the scratch. Clear would seal the paint and you wouldn't have to worry about color match. Another option would be to order some color-match paint from somewhere like www.colorrite.com to do the touch up.

Really, the paint shouldn't be chipping after just a scratch. Might be a factory paint adhesion problem. Couldn't hurt to address it with the dealership and see if there is anything in the warranty that would cover the chipping? Scratch no, paint flaking off, maybe.
