Using a Quadlock Fork Steam Pro Mount on my Yamaha R7...I wanted the same, at the same place for my daughter's R3...And no way to have the ram ball mount.
So if it can give some ideas, here is my solution:
Drill and make threads in the original bolt to fix the modified Quadlock !!

Made with a cordless drill. The angle is not perfect but correct for installation. If the drill would have had a level bubble, I imagine the result would be better.

What size drill/ tap? I ended up snapping the tap in the bolt….. weird -was oiling too….

For the tap, a friend gave me the stock. The hole was made with a drill, but for the tap he recommended me to do it by hand so as not to break it. Use oil at all times. The dril is a simple Dewalt 20volts. Here is what I used:

Is part of the tap still in the hole? Are you sure you drilled the correct sized hole for the tap size? Unless you have a power tapping head to put in a drill press I would only do this by hand as well.

Yes - broke off in the hole…. Ordered a new bolt… will be doing again once I’m back home…

When you know the Fork Steam PRO month with vibration damper from Quadlock...you do the right thing.

I use the thread of the bike.
That seems much easier to me.
And I use genuine navigation systems like Garmin or Tom Tom.
Or the same connection tool for a GPS laptimer on the race track.
They are all vibrant resistant.

This is a pretty clever solution. I'm 3000 miles in for experience on my R3, but I'm surprised this is a new discovery. Has anyone else tried this? how did it work out? I got the rokform case because I watch a lot of Dan Dan, 😄 but I was annoyed when I learned that the center mount doesn't work on the R3. I know I could get the offset but I didn't like the look. This looks like it could solve my issue though.
