Installed The M4 SS Today..

Installation was a breeze, the reduced weight is great, and it looks fantastic. But... It's too **** loud! Holy Sh#t! The videos do not accurately portray the sound. Even with the silencer in, I fear I will get a ticket for it. Not to mention I drive through a college campus and I feel like everyone is giving me the look like 'that guy' I am not one that likes bringing attention to myself. It does sound great though, I took it for a spin through some twistes and it was a blast. As a daily commuter though, I would not recommend this exhaust. I am going to attempt to quiet it as much as possible but if I can't I might post it for sale and get a Yosh.

Yup! Already ordered.

Awesome. Subbed for updates. I like what i hear of the M4 on YouTube, but the consensus does seem to be that's its pretty **** loud.

If the silencer doesn't help your issue, I might take another look at the Coffman's.

Yes! I hope that extra silencer does the trick! That system is so sexy *_* Have you noticed any difference in performance with the exhaust?? I might be getting mine within a few months hah

Honestly, not really. Maybe a little. I wasn't expecting much in performance. I did wrap some tinfoil around the db killer and poked smaller holes into it. It did help kill some of the noise and still ran great. I actually have high hopes for the new silencer.

Where can you order the Stage 2 part # Q4 insert? I can't seem to find anyone who sells it. (Preferably someone who ships to Europe)

I ran into the same issue, everywhere you go people talk about the additional quiet insert but it's almost impossible to find someone who sells it. I ended up getting it from here http://www.yamahar3racing.com/product/m4-street-slayer-carbon-fiber-slip-on-exhaust-yamaha-r3-2015/ but he emailed me and said that he's having it shipped directly from M4. JBluetooth is active on the forums you could ask him if he ships to Europe or email M4 directly.

Ok, I will ask him and look some more. Please give us an update on how the sound changes as soon as you have gotten it :) Thanks!

I see that they list it as sold separately, but i don't see any option of actually going trough with the action of buying it...

Edit: Also, they don't seem to have any e-mail address, which makes it difficult for me to contact them, due to prices of calling over seas, and the time difference.
Will installing the M4 slip on void the warranty?

It does require cutting the stock exhaust..so maybe? Not sure on that one tbh, but it is more than a "slip-on" compared to others that don't require cutting.
I recently got the m4 installed as well. I had the dealer I bought it from install it because labor was only like $60 to save me the time. I asked them about if it voids warranty, before I even ordered it. I have the extended 5 year warranty and they told me it does not void the warranty.

I have the M4 SS also, Love it. I DD my bike 50 miles a day, noise can be a bit much but in Seattle drivers are terrible and are always on their phones while driving. So I figured there was an upside to it to catch attention. Although I did get pulled over yesterday with a motorcycle cop following me on the carpool lane. I guess I shot a 2ft flame while letting off the throttle. He ran my registration and saw it was a 300cc and his jaw drop to the ground followed by a huge grin. Told me "You couldnt even get yourself into trouble on this bike even if you tried!" we both laugh and he let me on my way. Made my day knowing not all cops are D***S, If i were in my car though, Different story haha

Nice!! I will be in the Seattle area this summer, we should ride!

A little update to those waiting. The silencer is on its way but I have asked a numerous amount of people how loud the exhaust is for them when I ride by. (with silencer in) They all say its loud but not that bad. Thing is, the exhaust is so short that all that noise goes directly to the rider. SO when I am riding it seems soo freaking loud. Louder than to those I pass. Ear plugs are a must when riding around or you will just wear yourself out. I think the silencer will help a lot. God it sounds amazing and the flames are pretty dope!
The videos do not accurately portray the sound.
This is why I didn't try to make a video of the Tyga, even though posters were asking. At best, I could make a misleading video. You need a dB meter, a good mic, and tools to properly normalize the audio levels for comparison. Another way is to record audio from like 50-300' away (trick used in horn comparison videos).
