Is this supposed to be on bike ?

I just noticed that there's a plastic see through wrap on the steering wheel rod, not sure on proper name :)
Did my dealer forgot to take it off, or is it there for a reason ?
It's only on the left side, nothing on the right side.

Not on mine, and I've only had it 8 days, today. I assume dealer left it on.
I saw the same thing on mine today while I was showing the bike to the wife. That piece is now in the trash.
Had it on mine, too. I actually think there was one on SportBikeTrackGear's R3 as well. I threw it away.
you can take that off. the dealer should have done it for you.....for the $380+ prep fee they change you!
lol i just discovered that peace of plastic on my bike to day
two friends and my self vere trying to figure if it had reson or not
It will go in the Bin to morrow Ty :)
It will guard the wires from rubbing on the steel fork tube. Eventually they could wear thru the insulation. Is it necessary, probably not but why not see if it rubs thru the protector first?

I agree with Navin. Prolly there to prevent wear on the wire insulation. My bike doesn't have it.
I did notice one more "guard" that I decided not to remove because there are wires right next to it and it could help them from getting damaged.

Your bike has a steering wheel?
I knew something was wrong with my handling. My bike doesn't have one. This must be why.

Lol, nice catch :)

Yeah I decided to leave that one alone.

I also noticed that black piece of door edge guard only on one side the 2nd day I had my bike. I thought maybe it was missing the one on the left side, so I went back to the dealership to look at the floor models and they were the same.
