Did anyone figured out how to change the instrument gauge from kms to miles ? I'm planning on riding to the U.S. in a few weeks. Could not find anything in the manual ( or I might have missed it).

I accidentally switch mine all of the time. All you have to do is hold one of the buttons down for a few seconds and it switches. I think it is the bottom button.

Didn't work. Held the bottom button down for almost 10 secs.

Held the bottom button down for about 10-15 secs and nothing. Tried to top one too. Any other suggestions?

It only works on some of the screens, try the odometer screen.

I think you have to either be in one of the trip screen or the average mpg screen and hold the sel button for like 5 seconds. I accidentally changed it that way yesterday

arghhhh I tried everything! Help the self button for 20 secs in each and every screen (trip, ODO, Avg). Nothing. I read on the R6 forum that the Canadian bikes cannot switch to mph but the US ones can switch between mph and kmph.

I'm going to write to Yamaha and let's see if they have a magic button I need to press

Okay so Canadians with a R3, we are stuck with kmph if travelling into the U.S.

Here's the response from Yamaha canada

"I am sorry however there is no option to change the meter from KM/H to MPH. "

You must have a regulation there that forbids it. I bet British R3s have the option of switching.

To change it on my R3 you have to be on the ODO screen. Not the Oil Trip or any of the other screens. Press and hold the bottom button for 2 seconds and its changes to km/h from mph

Tried that. It does not switch on my bike. Read on the R6 forums that the Canadian R6 has the same issue

Yea I asked them the reason. Let's see what they say.

All cars here have the option to switch between the two so I doubt it's a law/regulation
