Lower wind screen?

1442 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  mikiee
I'm 5'8''. I get quite a lot of wind noise on my helmet. I notice if I lift up off the seat, almost standing up, the wind noise almost disappears. Crouching down onto the tank, does nothing for the noise. I wonder if putting a lower wind screen on would solve the noise problem and are there any possible models that would work with the R3? (I always wear earplugs when riding) I originally thought that the solution was to get a taller windscreen, but it looks like the opposite is what I need.

I'd be looking at what helmet do you have?
ie does it fit properly, is it over 3-5 yrs old?
s it quality, or just a $200 one?

It's an older Shoei with a good fit. But the point of my thread is that the quieter air occurs the higher I sit in the seat. To the extant that if I am half way standing, there's hardly any wind noise at all. I challenge anyone else to try this, safety first, not on a busy road and see if you notice a reduction in wind noise.
