Hi Guys and Girls,

New rider here. Just starting out in the biking world. Started late on 2 wheels being 45 but have dropped my dollars on a new to me 2019 R3 in Red.
More pics will be posted once I take delivery on or around the 5th of December. Can npt wait to throw a leg over her. Keen to see what this forum has to offer.

Took this long to finaly break my wife and get her to agree.

Had to get the red when I saw it. I know this is a hard to find colour way. Wanted it as soon as I saw it and knew it was the one. Has 11000Km on it but looks to be in great condition and comes with new rubber. Also was being sold through a dealership so that takes a bit of the stress out of the purchase. Now to get busy assembling the rest of my gear.

Congrats! I recommend checking out ChampU from Yamaha Champions Riding School right away, save yourself some misery of trial and error.

So my bike has finally arrived. I have 1 small issue though. The front left indicator is broken and appears to have been glued back to the body by the previous owner. Should I bring this up with the yard I bought it from? I had not noticed it when I purchased it as I bought from interstate.

IDK how it is where you are, but if you bought it from an auction or tow yard, it's usually an "as is" purchase.

Was from an actual Yamaha dealer. They have just repeated back to me several times "it wasn't like that when it left us" which is bullshit. There is old cured glue around the lefthand indicator that has been there for a long time.

I have learned that used warranties are worthless. Far less hassle to just fix it myself.

Anyone know where to get halo indicators?
I don't want to minimize your disappointment with your repaired turn signals. I've been there myself. If that is the only issue you found on a used R3- I'd still consider it a WIN!!!!

I would advise against the halos..... I've tried many LED signals. After many failed attempts on eBay LED's, I spent WAY more than I wanted to on the "R&G" LED signals. They are a short-stalk signal that can easily be seen from both the front, and the side. They are by far the brightest LED's I've found!!! I've since put them on all (3) of my bikes since I discovered them. Never had any problems with them in the four years I've had them. That's the "good".... The "bad" is: 1)They are like $80 USD for a pair. 2) If your European R3 didn't come with LED signals, you will need a new flasher relay. 3)To be used on an R3, you will need some adapter plates to mount them on the front fairings of an R3. They can be found on eBay for less than $10 USD.

BTW: I absolutely LOVE the red color scheme!!!! If that red was available in the USA, I wouldn't even consider any other color. Not sure why it isn't available in my country???

Here is a link to a replacement bodykit for the RED.

You would only need to powdercoat or plastidip your wheels.

Let me know how you go if you decide to order. Would be good to know what the actual fitment is like.

I have just replaced an OEM panel on mine that I had mentioned above as being a broken indicator. Actually turned out to be a broken fairing. Only cost $75 to get the new part and the decal that is on it shipped to me from one state to another in Australia.
