Always wanted a bike, never had the coach support to get one, everyone was always negative towards a bike purchase. Well 7 years later i decided to sign up for my safety course and do it on my own. I work a lot and finally found the time to get it done. Graduated and fell inlove with riding. I have previous experience on dirt bikes and quads.

Everyone of my guy friends had their input on getting a 600 gsxr or Suzuki 600. I went to multiple dealers, finally worked out a good deal.
Felt more comfortable being on a brand new bike, not to mention yamaha felt like eh my bike my choice and instantly fell inlove with the show room r3.

So far im 25 miles in, taking it easy, need some new girlfriends in the riding community.

Love my bike , planning on getting some work done soon, i want flush signals, cage, wide screen, hid, powder coat my wheels, and win the lottery.
Lol
Safe riding everyone hopefully rain leaves cali this morning

Welcome, Mjessgarcia!

Guys pushing girls to get bigger bikes (or pushing other guys to do it for that matter) is always 100% peer pressure. You made the right choice getting a beginner bike you feel comfortable on and can grow with and enjoy to your hearts content!

I know there's a female rider section on the forums, and being from LA will likely find you a riding crowd fairly quickly as well. Make sure, though, that you feel 100% confident in yourself before doing a big group ride. It's a lot of extra headache managing more than just yourself!

Congrats on the new bike.

Careful with the cheaper flushmounts. People in front of you won't know you're turning. Very dangerous.

Welcome and get your ride in now before the rain hits again tomorrow morning. A bit windy but at least the sky is blue. Speaking of blue, you didn't mention which color.

Hey, welcome to the forum! Great choice for a starter bike, I picked mine up last week and I'm already up to 700 miles lol. Noticed you're in LA, I work in DTLA, we should get some riding time in.

And like Kojiiro mentioned, join socalsportbikes.org. Pretty awesome forum for SoCal riders.

Welcome! The R3 is all about riding like everybody *thinks* they can ride a 600 on the street :). I'm never even close to bored with it.

This is an encouraging statement.
I certainly hope the same holds true for me. Time will tell.

Your sig tells me you've got a great pair to compare.
Hello and welcome to the forum from one unicorn to another! I have been trying to find more female riders to cruise with myself. I'm located in Anaheim and commute to work in long beach. PM me if you wanna find the time to hook up and ride :)

That was the plan. Sometimes the 1000 is just overkill. I love it, but it is not that great for city riding when you are stuck in traffic. The R3 should be great for around town, and I still have my rocket for when I need to spread my wings. Weather has been bad here, so I haven't had a chance to ride it around town yet. Hopefully I can take it out by the end of the week. FE-kit should be here in a couple of days.

This is so true ! People have enough trouble seeing motorcycles - we don't need to make them less visible . . .
