New Rider in Oklahoma; incredible dealer experience

Hey guys,
Picked up my Raven R3 on Tuesday. I wanted to share my experience in case any one from Oklahoma is shopping around. I had originally gone to the Yamaha dealer in Norman. I had a price in mind after browsing the forums here. So the dealer and I went back and forth a bit and settled on a price. Later we were looking at the bike and I was asking more questions when I caught an inconsistency in what he told me and the girl on the phone had told me when I first called. This prompted me to email the other dealerships in the area telling them I was shopping around and the lowest cash out-the-door price would get my business. A dealership about an hour away called offering $4800 OTD and asked what color I wanted. From what he told me sounds like he had to get one of the other dealers to come off the Raven color. I paid for the bike last week then went to pick it up two days ago.

The dealer is Sehorn Yamaha in Shawnee, OK. These guys blew me away w/ their service. They asked how much experience I had and offered some great options when they found out how little I've ridden. First was just to spend some time in the parking lot, then offered to let me ride around a dirt bike to get comfortable in the saddle. A few minutes later another sales person came out and said he'd be willing to load the bike in his truck and take me home which was ~ an hour away. I only took up the offer to spend some time in the parking lot and on top of all that they kindly informed me that I needed to be back at 600 miles and that the first service is free.

The ride home went just fine. About 15 miles on the interstate then back roads the rest of the way. I'm really glad to join the R3 club and learn from all you awesome ppl! Life is good!

Welcome!
Welcome to your new addiction, Wolf. Congrats on getting a great deal on your Raven.
That's awesome Wolf. I ended up buying mine from the crooks at Norman Yamaha, long story as to why but suffice to say I wouldn't buy a candy bar from that bunch again!! STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM NORMAN YAMAHA!!! You have been duly warned!!
Welcome! There are some great dealerships across the country. Not all of them are A-Hats.
