Hey everyone,
I joined this forum hoping to get some info on the R3.
Right off the bat I have a few questions.
Anyone under 25 paying for insurance in Ontario, Canada?
With what company and how much?
Any one put over 4000kms on their bike yet want to share how bike has held up and any maintenance to look out for?
Found a used bike locally for sale round 4000kms on it, asking $4600.
Any thoughts? Or good questions to inquire about with this bike?
First bike was a buell blast 500...
Sold it after first year as my half hour highway commute was not so great on it. A ninja 250 felt better, faster, more comfortable than that blast lol.
Great starter bike but I fell in love with the ninja 250 after trying it once in comparison to my buell.
Would love any help, insight into these topics,
Thanks guys.

First of all, welcome.
Please familiarize yourself with the Forum and what's where..:http://www.r3-forums.com/forum/289-...yamaha-r3-faq-how-mega-thread-read-first.html
Welcome,

You will definitely feel a lot more power and stability on the R3 than a ninja 250. Also keep in mind that the Buell Blast is a single cylinder poopsock that isn't designed with speed in mind. The vibrations of the Buell are sometimes unmanageable.

Can't help you with insurance coverage in Canada, but I can say that mine is $105 per month US for comprehensive, collision, and up to 25k of passenger protection.

Wish I had more insight for you as far as more locally, though.

Good luck!

Welcome! Mines just clocking up 4000kms. First service was 1000kms and next oil change/service is scheduled for 6000kms. Shes is running fine, oil still full and looking clean, only been doing a chain clean and grease every 500kms or after its been wet. If the run in period was done correctly, it should be a good bike to grab. Cant help with insurance,as Im in Australia.
Loving my R3, cant find a bad thing to say about it.
