The wife has been bugging me for awhile while we dating that she wanted a sportbike. Well, we just got a house and I decided it was the time. Research has led me to the R3. And we just picked it up this weekend. I have my permit. We're gonna get hers soon so she can ride it. Put about 100 miles on it this weekend. Went with the Matte Grey.

First time i've ridden a sportsbike. I enjoy it. See below for a pic.

Oh yeah. Looking for a plug - n - play fender eliminator kit and turn signals. So if you know of any. Post it up. I'll start searching through the forums for ideas.

There is a $5 discount on the forum for this and you can reuse the rear signals or buy better ones. I'm probably going to order one in a few weeks

Hey Chad,
Great color selection and congratulations on your new ride! It's been hard to find the matte gray around dealerships here. I live in Marlborough and was hoping if you could share your experience with the dealer? Was there a lead time on delivery? Are the dealerships willing to negotiate on matte gray or charging a premium for it? I am getting my gear all together at the moment and plan to start shopping for my R3 soon .
Welcome to the forum. Gratz on the new bike. Very nice. Tons of info on this forum. Vagabond tail-tidy is a good kit.

Ditto!
That one caught my interest. Only problem is it's turn signals only. Not running lights. It looks like the best choice thus far though from plug and play kits.

Hey buddy! I just saw you post in another section tha said you're in Marlboro. I sent you a PM before I saw this. My dealer experience was pretty straight forward. I looked at performance cycles in shrewsbury. They were expensive. Over 6K with fees and registration. NY had a better price at 5.7k. But I ended up going to Billrecia and got it for under 5K. Plus reg and tax. I got lucky I think.... cause they got the bike in the DAY before I called for it. I put a deposit on it the next day. lol. PM me if you need more info/help. I'm sure I can get you the bike for the same price if we go to that dealer together I bet. The sales manager likes me ;).

I got my gear before the bike too. So if you need help with that dept, lemme know.

Thanks! About to go to work. She's outside warming up. Lol. I'll be searching through the forums to find good info. I'll take some nice pics by this weekend with scenery.

I've been to both Auburn and Shrewsbury multiple times. Both places are pretty firm on price and both places demand charging their BS document fees as well. I like the shop in Auburn because they have so much to look at but they are incredibly dismissive. I've been in there a dozen times or more and never once have I been asked if I need any help or have any questions. In Shrewsbury, much smaller shop but they're friendly. I spoke to Dave who was very eager to spend time with me and answer any questions I had. Either way, both places are a bit over priced compared to what others are paying.

I've also heard good things about the shop in Billerica. Once I have my cash in hand, I'll have to give them a call and see what they may be able to do for me. I'm not afraid of driving out of the way if the deal is good enough.
I spoke with Dave as well. He was very nice, it's not his fault pricing was ridiculous, i'm sure. Once you're ready to buy, let me know. I'm sure I can help you with pricing at Billercia.

Welcome from England
Welcome! Love the matte grey scheme. so pretty in person
Put about 150 miles on it thus far. Just starting getting into the higher RPMS for shorts amount of time to help "break it in".

Love the gray, but the paint is very, very fragile!

Hey Chad, I just saw the great deal you got on your R3! I live in the CT area and I am interested in purchasing the R3 as well! Think you can hook it up for me as well? ;)

And congrats on the new bike!

not very often that a guys wife puts pressure on him to buy a sportbike! congrats and welcome!
If I had seen the Grey before I bought my red I probably would've gone that route. Didn't see it until about two weeks later when I went back to pick up my plates. Definitely a good looking scheme.

Side note, my wife talked me into selling my old bike and getting the r3, she was tired of hearing me debating the pros and cons of keeping mine or buying a new one. She basically told me to buy the bike so I shut up. Who am I to argue with?

Of course. Shoot me a PM. The sooner the better. Couple other people on here want them too.

Yeah, lol. I know. It's been fun thus far. Almost ready for the first 600 mile service.

I <3 the grey. Only problem is the paint is very, very brittle. Easy to scratch.

I'm a newbie here so it wont let me send a PM but I will be getting my license this weekend so I plan on purchasing the bike as soon as possible afterwards. I will keep you in the loop and let you know as soon as I obtain my license so that you can give your contact at the dealership a heads up about me coming in to purchase the bike!

Thanks for all your help!

No problem. Yeah I think you need 15 posts to send a PM. So post away! lol.
