So, got a question. The Ohlins rear shock with remote reservoir model A467 has been out since the R3 has shipped. Now there is an Ohlins S46HR1C1L STX 46 Hypersport Shock SKU available for the R3.

Is there a huge difference? The former is about $750 but the latter costs around $950.

per nomenclature the YA467 is a S46HR1C1L so I'm not seeing any difference in feature set. The 467 comes from Thailand(?) and perhaps the additional 200 buys you one made in Sweden? It's also possible the latter has a race-oriented piston and valving. Kinda need the YAxxx number to do any further research.

Eye to eye length
Ride height adjustments,
rebound,
compression,
hi speed,
low speed


Am interested to know.

Ohlins USA still doesn't list a fitment for the R3 as of time of this post, not sure why. Where'd you find this?

NOTE: Your Ohlins shock absorber may look different from what is pictured. It could be longer or shorter depending upon the model application. On Type 46P shocks, the compression adjustment knob may be a screw. The shock reservoir could be angled differently in order to fit your bike as well. It just goes to show how much custom work Ohlins puts into making their product work on each and every bike.

whatever was the conclusion on the difference here?
Same model. The shock is the S46HR1C1L family (Type Code) and the model is a YA467 (Part #). Same shock.

The Type Code is the coding for its features and specifications.

For you folks running an ohlins,JRI or K Tech ( not heard of anyone else with K Tech except me?), how hard is it to adjust your preload?the ohlins looks like it uses a notched collar, so a regular spanner with a "hook" at the tip. My K tech has holes for a pin type spanner, and it appears JRI shocks are the same? Either way, the collars are so far up in the bike it's making adjustment **** near impossible. Also, anyone have a cheap source for a pin type spanner? I picked one up at the shop but it may be too big. As in, the pin is a bit too big for the holes.
