So the R25 and by extension the R3 have been rendered in different colors. They've kept the concept bikes race decals and simply changed the base colors. Going off the rest of the R series, Black and Blue will be definite while the Red is more unlikely...

The final render has removed all the race decals and blued the entire bike, I think this one is my fav...

bit of both i suppose. I've always felt race decals on a road car or bike always made the pilot look a bit like a poseur. I like the Blue just because its traditional yamaha racing blue, the only thing that would of made it better is if the black bits were white like the concept...

My new favorite livery has to be the 2014 R1's mhmmmmm

I always loved how white and blue looks on Yami's the way they integrate the colors make them even better. A poor layout can easily make it look ugly.

If it ever surfaces, it seems like late 2014 will be it, so far all signs point to EICMA 2014

I think that bikes look pretty boring when they don't have any liveries or decals or anything. That is not to say that all decals look good, but I think that bikes look unfinished and cheap when they have no embellishments at all. The trick is making the bike look like it isn't missing something if you aren't going to add any liveries.

It would really have to depend on the curves. For example look at Ducati's they barely have any decals on them except for the branding and they look fine. But then again its a different bike.

For Yamaha's which is more race focused it might work out better with fancy decals and vinyl paneling.

good point, they basically have to create their bikes in line with what that bike and the brand is about.
