Riding in the rain with no motorcycle rain gear

Hi guys,

So this weekend I have a motorcycle driving class and there is a small chance of rain. My classes go rain or shine but I don't have any motorcycle specific rain gear yet...

What would you guys recommend to wear in the rain if one does not have waterproof motorcycle gear?

$1 Range: A large plastic trash bag. Poke a small head-size hole in the bottom, wear it like a poncho. A plastic grocery bag around each foot and hand, rubber band around ankles & wrists.

$1000+ Range: This. http://www.aerostich.com/men-s-roadcrafter-classic-one-piece-suit.html
Rain jacket. That's all my wife brought when expecting rain, which it did for 10 min. Unless of course you live somewhere that may have freezing temperatures, which I'm assuming is not the case.

Well, hopefully you have non-slip soles on your boots.
I assume you already have leather gear so jumping straight to rain gear you can wear on top of your leather gear. Revzilla has a lot of options if you wanted to check them out:

Just wear a regular jacket you would wear when its raining. The classes are all very low speed stuff. They just require long sleeves, jeans, helmet and gloves. No need to go crazy with armored jacket, leathers, etc.

My class it rained all three days.

you should call and check with the instructors. they might have some rain gear to put over your gear to borrow. my instructors had a few pairs or rain gear. it rained the whole last day of my class and i had to take the test in the rain. it was kinda scary at first but you get use to it.
although if you plan to ride in the rain i the future, sure invest. I saw a couple goobers out in a big ol spring rain a few weeks back shivering from the cold, riding with their clutch hands tucked under their arm their fingers were that cold...
For endorsement purposes, I would +1 most of the comments.
buy a $1 plastic see through rain jacket (the exposable ones you find in a dollar store), and wear it over your dry gear.
