Hi it's SDR3 here,

Anyone wanna ride From North County Fair to Palomar Mountain and back this Saturday around 2:30? Medium pace, mainly on windy backroads. The best roads for R3's in San Diego, tight corners, fairly low speeds. Perfect for small bikes.

Start at North County Fair
Highland valley rd to ramona
Old Julian hwy to Santa ysabel
Mesa Grande to Lake Henshaw
Palomar Mtn up and down, time permitting.

Should be a 2 to 3 hour round trip from North county fair area. Should be done by 5:00 or 6:00 maybe sooner. We can always make it a shorter ride too.

If anyone wants to go let me know. Bring a friend, it doesn't have to be a small bike to go.

If anyone wants to go, I plan on leaving from the Shell station west of the 15 fwy exit Via Rancho pkwy around 2:30 on Saturday Sept 19th (by the north county fair)

Links below show the roads. I don't plan on riding crazy fast like the guys in the videos. I keep it around the speed limit and just work on my corner speeds.

That's great, I hope you can make it, This is probably the best ride in San Diego, very fun, no matter what speed you want to go. Now we just need a few more riders.

I have duty saturday, and typically plan my rides earlier in the morning, and closer, but it sounds like alot of fun. If you ever do the 94 let me know!

I normally go earlier too, but my son has a pop warner game at 11:00 on Saturday. So 2:30 on Saturday is the only time for me this weekend. Maybe next weekend we can hit the 94. That sounds fun too. Keep me in the loop.

I have things to do during that time tomorrow, but I wish I would have known about this before making plans! I rode up to the bottom of palomar with a buddy on his n250 last week and it was fun! I was new to those tight turns so that was exciting! I will look out for more posts from you guys!

I'm still going no matter what. I'll be at the shell station or the Starbucks next to the shell till 2:30 if anyone wants to ride or just stop by with their R3.

Absolutely. On the 94, or any ride for that matter it's all about riding your own ride. Average speed for me is about 65 through the canyons. I don't ride above my limits some people go faster, some slower. No one cares how fast or slow you are. We are all there to enjoy the ride and learn. it's a weekend cruise. It's not motogp.

I'll look up socalsportbikes.org.Let me know when your next 94 ride is and I'd like to check it out. I did my normal ride up to Palomar and back and I ended up riding with a few big BMW sport bikes. It was fun, A little more of a cruise than the r3 is capable of, but fun anyways.
