I've owned one bike with a slipper/slip assist clutch, and that is the XSR900 which has it as standard.

I bloody loved it. Not only for that gentle transition on hard downshifts, but the feather light clutch pull as well, since they run less/lighter clutch springs.

There's no way I'd spend that much on it for an R3 though, as it already has a relatively light clutch and isn't a high performance bike by any means. If it helps on the track though and gives you a competitive edge then I can understand why.

My 2020 R3 has the slipper-clutch option. It's good for hard engine braking so you don't get rear tire chatter. Some bang-off the clutch while downshifting at high RPMs which cause the rear tire to skid-out a bit; this mitigates that issue somewhat. The junky Kawasaki Ninja 400 ABS (owned it) had this option as well.
