Hi guys

Living in Thailand, where traffic laws are rarely enforced I am able to enjoy revving through the gears. But I have noticed that after accelerating upto 5th gear and hitting 145-150 kph I slip into 6th gear and the speed decreases almost instantly to 135kph and then struggles to get back up to 145kph. Anyone has any suggestions why this would be the case?

Is the clutch slipping? Watch the tach and see if the RPM's are climbing while speed is not......

When are you shifting to 6th (what RPM)? If you shift too low (8-9 k), you will instantly lose hp when you go to 6. That, combined with wind loads working against limited hp, you will slow down immediately. Tighter tuck, later shift will help some.

Hi there man. Even after mods, my R3 will struggle to rev out in top... in order to get the most out of it (if you are going for top speed) you need to rev her out to just before the rev limiter kicks in in 5th (basically to the red) and then rapid fire that 6th ratio... at red in 5th you should be high 160s - I'm still tweaking mine to get those last 1,500rpm in top... 182km/h best I've seen thus far, but if I can get her to rev out in 6th (more fuel... but not too much) then 190 possible.
