Hi,

Just purchased a new R3, and need to change out front springs and rear shock. Does anyone know where to find the spring rates for these bikes in KG/MM????

It feels like the rear is dialed in for a rider of about 180lbs. and the front feels a bit stiff...possibly for a 250lbs. rider.

Would like the actuall tech specks for calculating new weight and aggressive street riding.

Thanks All!!

Bradmeister!

Ask Jesse at YamahaR3Racing.com. He would know. But from what I've heard the stock fork springs are 0.65 kg/mm or so. Can't remember the shock rate, but Jesse had a long write-up about that somewhere on here. I know both are soft. Pretty much good for people up to about 140-150 lbs. Anything more than that you should get different springs. Ideally get different suspension altogether.
