Stalling

Hi new rider here.

I've been riding since February now on my '22 r3 and it has almost 400 miles on it.

I usually take my bike to work because it's cheaper to put gas in that than my car. The ride to my work I have no issues passing stop signs and the one light I go through/stop at, but on my way home I always stall at this light if its red. And I have no idea why, but it's absolutely frustrating because I've tried everything. Higher rpms, lower rpms, not looking at the gage, trying to not panic, and I just am at a lost as to why it only stalls out when I'm heading home at this light but not when I'm going to work?

Any ideas?

Is the bike stalling when sitting at idle or when you start to take off from the light?

Is it like on a hill/incline at all?

my best guess is you arent giving enough throttle and/or releasing the clutch to quickly

I assume you are new to riding. If so, then you need to practice taking off from a stop.
On the weekend, find an empty parking lot (closed business on Sunday or church on Saturday).
Also good to practice making a turn after stopping (easiest to start forward before initiating the turn).

Relax and enjoy the practice. Stay Safe.

Also, your bike is still in the break-in period.... It will run better once you have about 1,000 miles on it. Yamaha does a pretty good job, and making it run the best they can for break-in. That being said, it WILL run better after break-in. I've owned KTM's, and Huquavarna's that barely ran when "new", but got as smooth as a sewing machine after 1,000 miles -

As others have pointed out, it's probably just seat time at only a couple months of riding.

It dies when you twist the throttle before you even let out the clutch, right? And the longer the red light, the more likely, right? If that is the case, it's on Yamaha, and I don't know what to suggest except getting a tune/flash so the ecu isn't so dang lean on the AFR.
