DOT and Snell are both outdated. Latest Snell standard is from 2010.

Best standard to look for is the European ECE R22-05. It's the most rigorous, most involved testing out there right now, along with the British SHARP standard.

NOTE: States that actively check helmets for certification, and fine for non-compliance, may not accept the ECE standard. Their regulations are outdated, too!
