Not only is Yamaha bringing over their latest small displacement sport bike, they're also importing their intentions to dominate in segment. Essentially identical to the R25 we saw debut earlier this year, the R3 ups the ante with a bump in displacement. 321cc's of it to be exact.
Not only is Yamaha bringing over class leading power and performance, but a much needed player in the small displacement sport bike category that's totally en vogue lately, like totally.
Yamaha rightly assumes that R3 will be their volume leader across North America, the Ninja 250/300 has always been a popular choice around these parts, serving as a funnel to larger Kawasaki products. With class leading performance the R3 should be the perfect way to sell more R6's and R1's.
Expect so see the R3 in shops starting January 2015, $4,990 please.
