There are some gorgeous goodies in there, for example the RD500 and that SDR200 is downright beautiful :D

LOOKING through Yamaha’s history it’s hard not to be struck by the fact that it has probably created more class-defining models than any of its rivals – regularly showing an element of bravery that allows it to build bikes that are two steps ahead of the competition, forcing the rest to play catch-up.

Thanks for posting these, it helps to know more about them and get a better understanding of what they were like and how that plays into how they are now

This post got me thinking about my first real bike (big wheel 50 was my first 2 wheeler).
Yamaha Lt 100 dating myself but I loved that bike.

Great article post! My favorite was the RZ500R. The precurser to the FZ600 "Hypersports" bike of 1986, another bike I wanted so badly but couldn't afford the $3,000.00 brand-new price tag.
