Traded The R3 For a Yamaha SR400 Yesterday

I loved the R3, but I had to have this 2015 Yamaha SR400.
This SR400 is very slightly used and I traded even with the Yamaha dealer this afternoon. Like my R3, this SR400 is in perfect condition. I know the guy who bought it new and he really takes care of his bikes. Heck, it's cleaner than the zero mile SR400 in the showroom. The build quality is fantastic with lots of chrome plated metal and flawless paint.
I wanted one of these when they came out last year, but I was unwilling to pay the $6K that Yamaha was asking for them.
This is the 338th one to roll off the assembly line.
It's pretty cool and has these accessories:
Polished skid plate
Oil temp gauge
C6R bar end mirrors
Dime City Cycle exhaust
National Cycles flyscreen windshield

I know I look like crap in this pic, but riding all day and sweating to death in this hot Alabama weather really makes me feel tired as ****.

That's our Yamaha/Star 1300 Deluxe in the background.

I'd say that this lovely Bike fits you even more than the sporty R3 :)
Chill your life, stay safe, and have the most of fun possible!! :D
Gawd I wish there was an accessory centerstand for the R3. Put on a Yosh pipe and you might even break even with the weight, in almost the same place.

Nice bike, have fun with it!
Very nice, had a good go on one of those, just a nice, sedate, retro-cool cruiser.

Enjoy!
I love the look of the SR400. Just something about air cooled engines and their simplicity that appeals to me. Plus it has a kick starter!
congrats on the new bike safe riding :)
Are ya gonna put your cool commemorative track license plate on it?
You'll be back :). Small bikes are the most fun, I've had 250 up to 1200 and like you switched bikes often. I remember you from the CBR250 forum, a bike I use to have too.
The R3 is a keeper for me.

I'm going to get one that says "SR400".
The colors of that tag will look good on the gray SR.
The SR. looks great!
I have the same model. What size/part# is the windscreen? National Cycles doesn't list a flyscreen for the 2015 sr400, but yours seems to fit perfectly.
Have you had a chance to ride it on the highway?
Enjoy!

I'll look and see if I can see a part number on the flyscreen.
You might be better off calling NC and asking them.
I haven't had it on the highway yet, but I've had it up to about 80mph. I'm not sure if the flyscreen really does anything other than look cool.
The SR400 makes the R3 seem like an R6. It's a ton of fun to ride, but fast/quick the SR400 ain't. LOL!!
I sold my SR400 to get a R3. I liked it a lot and if it had an electric start, I would still have it.
