DUMB question, but please understand this is my very first motorcycle. Is there a small trunk under the passenger seat, so I can tie my helmet and lock with the strap for example?

I guess we won't know for sure until someone get their R3, but usually Japanese bike have a helmet lock passenger or left side fender.

I am sure there is a "small" trunk, likely similar to that of the R6. Unfortunately, I do not like the helmet locks because they are a real PITA. There is room for the tools and your reg/ins lol. Don't plan on things like a small water bottle.

Since its a budget bike, it might be similar to the FZ07 where you have a plastic coated braided metal wire which you can loop into your helmet d-ring and it is attached to the inside of your passenger seat which is locked into place.

But who knows?

looking closely at the pictures of the bike you can see a key hole on the left side. that should be to open up the passenger seat. GOOD
