I'm planning on installing a tracker on my bike which requires tapping into the switched power source. Wrote to Yamaha canada to check if warranty will be voided and they replied saying it will be.

What's everyones opinion on this? I get they are protecting themselves but I wonder if the warranty is voided for the entire bike or just the electrical.

Also what are the chances of having issues during the first year of warranty? Id think it's rare but that's just me guessing

But that would have nothing to do with a blown engine, transmission problems, etc. They can't void your entire warranty. It wouldn't even come up if you threw a rod or the clutch failed. If your wiring failed, it might. That's when you take off the tracker and put it back as it was before you have them fix it.

Yea I guess I'll just take off the tracker if something does happen that needs me to pull out the warranty card!

If someone steals my bike they are going to run it into the ground or do something else bad to it. In any case, I don't want a trashed bike back. The cost for a tracker will pay my deductible.

just stick a TILE tracker to it with some double sided tape some where hidden on the bike and call it a day. Those Tiles trackers are cheap and it takes 5 minutes
