According to this news from Indonesia we might be able to see the R3 this coming November and some more stuff... (The news was in Indonesian and not english, a little help from google translate solved the problem :) )

http://otomotif.metrotvnews.com/rea...iap-yamaha-r3-diprediksi-nongol-di-eicma-2014

"Success brings Yamaha YZF-R25 and markets in the national market since its launch in May 2014, the product of manufacturing bearing the 'tuning fork' is reaping a lot of attention.

But Yamaha apparently did not want to remain silent and be satisfied with this product. Because they are rivals Kawasaki and Honda already make 300 cc motorcycle products. The news most warm, Yamaha will showcase their latest product is Yamaha R3 with an engine capacity of 300 cc at EICMA (automotive exhibition in Milan) in November 2014.

Perhaps this is done so that motor sport market in under 600 cc class, there are many options. Predicted Yamaha is already ready to market this product. And the base of the machine could have taken the product Yamaha YZF-R25. Staying in stroke length adjustment as did Honda.

Some claim that this bike is ready and stayed through finalization. There is also a saying that the product launch process will be done a month before the EICMA (ie early October). If he does, it could be the product will also be constrained in Indonesia. We wait and see!"

SO Milan should give us a look at the R25. That is good news. It'll just be more pictures for us mostly, unless some of you guys are planning on actually going to Milan for that auto show. It's also hard to get a clear picture of what exactly is going on here with the broken translation. At least its some kind of timeline for the bike though.

Yes thats exactly what I was expecting, full circle at EICMA. When markets could see them in showrooms is still the massive question mark. India is expected to get the R25 in January 15, so you have to figure global markets won't receive theirs until after that. What Spring/Summer 2015?

I hope we don't have to wait all the way until next summer. That seems like a while to me. I would hope that by spring we would see the R25 in worldwide showrooms. I can't see why they would wait such a long time to realease the bike worldwide.

Consider the stress that would place on manufacturing capabilities. You have all your top markets expecting the exact same bike at the exact same time, there will never be enough product to go around. And if you tell them it will be available than make them wait, well that's a PR disaster just asking to happen.

They also figure that people who get fed up with waiting never really wanted it in the first place ;)

Yamaha will have no choice but to release the R3 because Honda and Kawaski has enter Indonesia with their 300cc bikes. They have to also release the R3 to the world because they have no choice since Indonesia does have a high demand for a high dollar 300cc.

I had thought 250 dominance was based on regulation there? Something about taxes...

Correct, due to stupid the law of only 800+ cc bikes will be considered as premium bike and they qualify for import duty exemption, any thing less than 800 cc should pay the full import duty and taxes which actually crosses 110% all together, that way people importing 600cc bike may end up paying a lot extra compared to the liter class bike. Also they have to be certain age (I think 16/17/18) to take the gear license to ride a 150cc or below.

That indeed is a stupid law.

I can confirm that the new R1 will be at UK bike show in November but that the R3 is not expected to be there.
If so, you have to wonder why not.. even if its a static model to build excitement.
My friend said that the show was to focus on the launch of the 2015 R1 and not to be diluted by any other bike, which is fair enough.

Seems we're last in line for R3... I think that may also be the reason prcing has been withheld thusfar.

Yeah, maybe. Before this I last heard that some dealers would get the bike in towards the end of this year... Sounds like bollccks now.

ha, similar to my argument in another thread about things like the R3 and Playstation 4 costing about the same in £ and $ despite a massive exhange rate difference..... Another thing that is bloody annoying is that the US/Asia also got the PS3 and PS4 earlier than we did in the UK - bloody disgraceful :)

HOW ANNOYING will it be when all the US members on here will be going on about how good the R3 is and we will have 3 months to wait for delivery!!
haha :D
