Hear me out as I try to decipher exactly what is going on from Google Translated webpages.

It appears that Yamaha will be unveiling anew motorcycle on March 25, that's next! It could be the r25, or it could be the r3. This news comes from a teaser countdown posted on a Yamaha website, and also a graphic of a motorcyle on the same site, though it is unclear from the picture which bike it is.

Below I've put al ink to the Yamaha global webiste, and pics of the different webpages/images.

yea, the production quality of the video is really good for a 15 second teaser. Since it comes from the Yamaha global website I think that it might be the r25 instead of the r3. This is because the r25 will be more widely available. Correct me if i'm wrong.

well i don't think you're wrong per se, I just think you;re missing something. I fully expect the R3 and R25 to be the exact same bike. However in parts of the world they have a graduated licencing system which restricts bikes by CC's. So in those markets where licencing is restricted to 250cc's Yamaha will sell the R25, where those restrictions are not a priority they will sell the R3.

However where it does get interesting is when you consider countries like Japan with tax incentives for sub 250cc riders, I believe Korea is also like this. I wonder which they will sell in those markets, if not both... ?

Me too, but at least they're making this interesting. I bet some Yamaha dealers probably have that page open up on some big screen to watch the count down.
I bet you're right.

The big reveal is one thing, but with a reveal around now, when do you think that we will actually be able to get one of these new bikes into our driveways? I'm hoping that by the summer people can take them home.

Some of the indian sources have been claiming it could be on sale in India by fall 2014, would be a bummer to be honest, but if it does debut there in fall 2014 we likely wont see it until spring 2015...

hopefully I'm completely wrong hehhh
